De naam Rams Woerthe verwijst naar het weiland of 'woerthe' waarop de villa is gebouwd en dat ooit in het bezit was van een burgemeester genaamd 'Ram'.

Nederlands: Rams Woerthe is een park in Steenwijk met daarin onder andere een villa die eind 19e eeuw werd gebouwd, een oorlogsmonument, een vijver en een klein paviljoen. Van 1919 tot 2016 was de villa in gebruik als (onderdeel van het) gemeentehuis. Sinds 2007 is het Hildo Krop Museum er gevestigd. In 2016 werd het pand gekocht door Vereniging Hendrick de Keyser, die het openstelde voor publiek.

Villa Rams Woerthe In het souterrain van deze imposante villa huist het Hildo Krop Museum. Jan Hendrik Tromp Meesters liet de Jugendstil villa "Rams Woerthe" bouwen aan de Gasthuislaan in Steenwijk. In 1899 betrok hij dit door A.D.N. van Gendt uit Amsterdam ontworpen woonhuis. De bouw had ruim 75.000 gulden gekost.

Rams Woerthe, gebouwd in art-nouveau -stijl (oftewel jugendstil ), kwam in 1899 gereed. De opdrachtgever Tromp Meesters heeft het huis slechts negen jaar bewoond. In 1908 overleed hij op 53-jarige leeftijd. Zijn weduwe wilde er niet blijven wonen en verkocht in 1917 het pand aan de gemeente Steenwijk voor de prijs van 90.000 gulden.
